Ooooh boy, i have been trying to catch hold of such comics since ages, esp Phantom. And i was considered childish in nature around here. I am so happy to see so many like me who still like to relive the moments when you hold the comics dear to your heart!

Can't put in words, the feeling I had seeing all these comics. I had most of these numbers once, but in due course of time and multiple house shifts lost them.
It feels like a part of childhood returned.

However really wish if you could roll out the posts onto some other site where a direct download is possible. Rapidshare is a pain at all the wrong places.
Am even willing to shell out a sum if somebody could just bundle all the comics in a CD and post across.

I just loved the mandrake and phantom ones. Does anyone have the tintin collection ( I had loaned them to my local library long back ).But i still cant get over that decision.But i guess lots of readers must be loving reading them till now. A Great Job.I have downloaded all the 172 comics.I was a ardent fan of Phantom comics in my childhood.In school my note books contained sketches and faces of the Phantom.I also remember of trying very hard to get a skull ring in the market which i never got.Pl continue to upload further comics on the site.
It´s a huge task you are undertaking by posting all these comics in your pages. There is just one thing I don´t like, as a source for downloading books, Rapidshare seems to me.a quite annoying link provider,since they "force" you to buy its products in order to have an unlimited number of downloads. Wouldn´t you consider it change to another sources ?

this is what iu was waiting for some time...finally you have it as downloadable zip files....sadly, its on rapidshare...i agree its the most reliable and famous one around, but you could have tried the other ones around like divshare and megashares...

Guys, I agree this is a great work but don't u guys think u r all in a rut of only pleasing and no serious attention towards the problems. Check http://blueapplecomics.blogspot.com/ and see the way they do the things.
1. First of all scanning is of poorest quality - no yellow page removing, no image enhancement, no cropping, further more the worst part is that most of the scanning are tilted (not straight)
2. Link to the download guide by desiguru is dead for the last six months and heck u post it in the main page as a great link. Shameful.
3. No serious attempt towards a managinle download like .lit. pdf, .cbz or.cbr
4. I have a minimum of 300 indrajaal comics and i would like to share it, but ur policy of restraint scanning is annoying. So i changed my mind.
5. No email announcement is there for newly added comics.
Now go on and reply the post or go down the pathetic old way of sharing an old comic publication

Blueapplecomics is an excellent blog to take ideas from. Sadly, between posting comics and living a life, there is rarely ever time for implementing new things or bringing about improvements. But your point is well understood. To specifically answer comments, 1. Scanning is variable, there are multiple scanners and I don't want to pressure the contributors to stick to a certain standard though I did put out some specs earlier. What I can do is convert it to the specifications depending on the raw material. The yellows on the page, the cropping etc are deliberate. As much as possible, I want us to retain what the comic looks like "on paper". The straightening is something I can definitely work on but again, there's no time. Like I said, the contributors are doing a fantastic job as it is and I am not going to pile on 2. Understood and link removed. The download guide isn't really relevant anymore. Thanks for pointing it out. 3. Each comic is in a .ZIP format and posted on thecomiclinks. Why no CBZ or CBR? because those who are aware of the format can rename the file and those who don't know about it won't get confused. 4. Perfectly happy if you don't share your 300 indrajals. Would have been good but the reason you are giving - "policy of restraint scanning is annoying" - is a mystery. I don't expect you to clarify. 5. No email announcement. #1. I don't know how to do that. #2. Not having notifications does drive up the anticipation level - with a dash of unpredictability #3. It is a good idea though - it might lead to a mad rush for claiming #1 position. That could be fun.
As for the "pathetic old way" that I choose, sorry mate...that's the best I've got right now and that "pathetic old way" got several hundred people access to almost 200 comics. I will try to improve but I leave a question to you - open - you pick what your question should be and how you choose to answer it. Until then, peace.
Sorry for the harsh words buddy. But i couldn't control it when I downloaded and saw the rough scans. Though thanks for accepting the points. You may not alter the works of the contributors but can definately asks for some enhancement on part of the image quality without exceeding the size too much.
And the restraint policy is what i mentioned in the 1st point, But as you said scanning can be done variably. I am eager to scan and post it on the site.
I was reading ur spec. page and for the bandwidth problem (if still) i will directly upload it to rapidshare and send the link to you. so no more job other than to specify the link on the site. Offcourse with a preview of the cover page
If the policies of TCP are too restrictive, nothing stops you from opening your own blog site and posting them, as CW does. It will even be helpful for TCP who is already overloaded with lots of scans to post. The more Indrajal scan sites, the merrier!
I wish we can all stop fighting and just enjoy our hobby - reading comics! Hope to see your site soon.
Sorry to say, I didn't say i don't like it. I complaint about the poor scan quality and suggested for some enhancements. And it sure is for many comics, posted here.

there is one problem with the comics. i am surprised no one seen it till now. "comic no. 50[Encounter With Space Creatures (mandrake)] & 112[The Ratmen of Rodencia (mandrake)] are same, just there names are different, the story is same, word to word; picture to picture." can some1 correct this?

This is really great site.. just because i got access to quite a few indrajal books online. There are better sites like BDComics or BlueAppleComics to get access to DC and Marvel.. but not indrajal. Btw, i have been a avid collector of these comics during my childhood.. still got a few back home. Will try to scan them and post them on ur site. Good work.. keep it up.
I am a journalist and I am working on a story. Do you know about groups that like to read and exchange Phantom and Mandrake comics. These comics were a rage in the 80s and are published even today. currently, vendors tell me that these comics disappear as soon as they land at their shops. There are collectors in Mumbai who have trunkful of these comics and who refuse to let anyone know that they have it. Im trying to locate these loyal fans. Btw, they call themselves Phans. Hi guys Boy am I glad I found you. This was my life some 35 yrs ago. At that time I was one of the few who subscribed to Indrajal Comics (thanks to an uncle), patiently awaiting for the fortnightly fare. I was a supplier to my buddies in school and often got in truble for sneaking comics in the class room having lost some, confiscated by greedy teachers! Phantom remains my hero forever. Can someone post an old Phantom comics in which he fights a boxer who has been terrorising the jungle. Phantom is captured and made to fight in front of whole jungle, the boxer apparantly has lead/ metal things in his gloves to ensure his victory- thats all I remember. Do u know guys I spent whole nite last night reading some of the treasured comics I thought I would never ever see. Hats of 2u all for all the hard work that has gone in. Please please keep posting. Firstly - Thank you so much 'Comic Project' . I stumbled upon this site some time back and immediately went back to my childhood days! As a matter of fact - I still read all comics but was really missing Indrajal comics. What you guys are doing is spectacular! I grew up on Phantom, Tarzan, Mandrake et al and this site gives me access to everything. I still have loads of Indrajal comics (All bound together) at my parents place, which I aim to get here one day.
As to your query on finding a good upload/download site - have you tried 'Bit Torrent'. If you havent used it, just read on. All you need to do is create the upload (jpg, cbr, zip etc) and then using a free 'Bit Torrent' software - create a torrent file and upload it the 'Bit Torrent' hosting website. Others will need to click on the 'Bit Torrent' file and the host website will redirect it to your PC to start downloading. Only thing is to keep you computer running for a few days so it can be downlaoded and the more people download, the better it gets (everyone has to keep 'seeding' by leaving the PC on for a few days).

you have done an wonderful job. in my school days i used wait when would the indrajal comics arrive. as far as i can remember it weekly or fortnightly. but suddenly one day it disappeared. my paperwallah said that it had stopped coming. since then i only read them in newspapers. as these comics are being published till today in newspaers, there must be some source. is it available elsewhere other than india? thanks to my mom that she stored those comics carefully and binded them in volumes. after so many years, once and while whenever i go home i go through those again & again. you have refreshed all old memories. there were some "to be continued" issues i never managed to get from my paperwallah. till now i feel sorry that i could not lay my hands on those issues of phantom, mandrake. wonderful work. thinking of buying a scanner if i can help. many many thanks.
Reminds of my childhood, these were the first comics I read. You should also post a link to Cdisplay download to read these comics as they are meant to be read. I have some US published phantoms, how do I upload them.

I recently got my hands on some old comics and became very nostalgic on how i used to spend hours reading them. I wondered if i could find them online, and stumbled across this place.
It is strange that no one is seeding except me, there are many people downloading this torrent 54 at last count, so please guys who have downloaded it please seed as I dont have a very high upload speed thanx to BSNL.
The links for all comics, 160 onwards, is not displayed. Can there be some problem. Actually I tried downloading #160 onwards from three different comps, and all failed. Is some one else having this prob? Can this be corrected?

Superb job done. Just felt as elated as a kid getting his hand on to a candy box.
Only one suggestion I'd like to make. the earlier titles were uploaded to rapidshare.de say from title no.1 to title 80 or thereabout. Later on they are uploaded to rapidshare.com.
I felt downloading files from rapidshare.de much easier than rapidshare.com. Some days I could download even 8-10 titles a day from rapidshare.de, but from rapidshare.com it is only 1 or 2 titles a day.
Anyway these are small glitches compared to the work you have put in. Carry on the good work and hope to lap up more goodies from your treasuretrove.
Does every downloader know that there is a program called Cryptload which can capture the links of rapidshare and download the files from there so there is no need for going to the site, of course the usual restrictions of time etc apply.
Wow ..great work! Can you please upload the zip files to a site that has not restrictions on downloads. Rapidshare is such a pain with it's restriction of time. May I know how to download from rapidshare. Once I click the link, it goes to Rapid share url and prompt to choose whether free user or premium user. Once I select free user option, it only downloads a 17 kb zip file. Appreciate your help on this.

Ooooh boy, i have been trying to catch hold of such comics since ages, esp Phantom. And i was considered childish in nature around here. I am so happy to see so many like me who still like to relive the moments when you hold the comics dear to your heart!

Can't put in words, the feeling I had seeing all these comics. I had most of these numbers once, but in due course of time and multiple house shifts lost them.
It feels like a part of childhood returned.
My heartiest thanks to all the contributors to this great great post.
However really wish if you could roll out the posts onto some other site where a direct download is possible. Rapidshare is a pain at all the wrong places.
Am even willing to shell out a sum if somebody could just bundle all the comics in a CD and post across.

I agree this is a great work but don't u guys think u r all in a rut of only pleasing and no serious attention towards the problems. Check http://blueapplecomics.blogspot.com/ and see the way they do the things.
1. First of all scanning is of poorest quality - no yellow page removing, no image enhancement, no cropping, further more the worst part is that most of the scanning are tilted (not straight)
2. Link to the download guide by desiguru is dead for the last six months and heck u post it in the main page as a great link. Shameful.
3. No serious attempt towards a managinle download like .lit. pdf, .cbz or.cbr
4. I have a minimum of 300 indrajaal comics and i would like to share it, but ur policy of restraint scanning is annoying. So i changed my mind.
5. No email announcement is there for newly added comics.
Now go on and reply the post or go down the pathetic old way of sharing an old comic publication

@anupam: thanks for your comments. Blueapplecomics is an excellent blog to take ideas from. Sadly, between posting comics and living a life, there is rarely ever time for implementing new things or bringing about improvements. But your point is well understood. To specifically answer comments,
1. Scanning is variable, there are multiple scanners and I don't want to pressure the contributors to stick to a certain standard though I did put out some specs earlier. What I can do is convert it to the specifications depending on the raw material. The yellows on the page, the cropping etc are deliberate. As much as possible, I want us to retain what the comic looks like "on paper". The straightening is something I can definitely work on but again, there's no time. Like I said, the contributors are doing a fantastic job as it is and I am not going to pile on
2. Understood and link removed. The download guide isn't really relevant anymore. Thanks for pointing it out.
3. Each comic is in a .ZIP format and posted on thecomiclinks. Why no CBZ or CBR? because those who are aware of the format can rename the file and those who don't know about it won't get confused.
4. Perfectly happy if you don't share your 300 indrajals. Would have been good but the reason you are giving - "policy of restraint scanning is annoying" - is a mystery. I don't expect you to clarify.
5. No email announcement. #1. I don't know how to do that. #2. Not having notifications does drive up the anticipation level - with a dash of unpredictability #3. It is a good idea though - it might lead to a mad rush for claiming #1 position. That could be fun.
As for the "pathetic old way" that I choose, sorry mate...that's the best I've got right now and that "pathetic old way" got several hundred people access to almost 200 comics. I will try to improve but I leave a question to you - open - you pick what your question should be and how you choose to answer it. Until then, peace.
Sorry for the harsh words buddy. But i couldn't control it when I downloaded and saw the rough scans. Though thanks for accepting the points. You may not alter the works of the contributors but can definately asks for some enhancement on part of the image quality without exceeding the size too much.
And the restraint policy is what i mentioned in the 1st point, But as you said scanning can be done variably. I am eager to scan and post it on the site.
I was reading ur spec. page and for the bandwidth problem (if still) i will directly upload it to rapidshare and send the link to you. so no more job other than to specify the link on the site. Offcourse with a preview of the cover page

If the policies of TCP are too restrictive, nothing stops you from opening your own blog site and posting them, as CW does. It will even be helpful for TCP who is already overloaded with lots of scans to post. The more Indrajal scan sites, the merrier!

I am a journalist and I am working on a story. Do you know about groups that like to read and exchange Phantom and Mandrake comics. These comics were a rage in the 80s and are published even today. currently, vendors tell me that these comics disappear as soon as they land at their shops. There are collectors in Mumbai who have trunkful of these comics and who refuse to let anyone know that they have it. Im trying to locate these loyal fans. Btw, they call themselves Phans. Boy am I glad I found you. This was my life some 35 yrs ago. At that time I was one of the few who subscribed to Indrajal Comics (thanks to an uncle), patiently awaiting for the fortnightly fare. I was a supplier to my buddies in school and often got in truble for sneaking comics in the class room having lost some, confiscated by greedy teachers!
Phantom remains my hero forever. Can someone post an old Phantom comics in which he fights a boxer who has been terrorising the jungle. Phantom is captured and made to fight in front of whole jungle, the boxer apparantly has lead/ metal things in his gloves to ensure his victory- thats all I remember.
Do u know guys I spent whole nite last night reading some of the treasured comics I thought I would never ever see. Hats of 2u all for all the hard work that has gone in. Please please keep posting. I beg you.

Firstly - Thank you so much 'Comic Project' . I stumbled upon this site some time back and immediately went back to my childhood days! As a matter of fact - I still read all comics but was really missing Indrajal comics. What you guys are doing is spectacular! I grew up on Phantom, Tarzan, Mandrake et al and this site gives me access to everything. I still have loads of Indrajal comics (All bound together) at my parents place, which I aim to get here one day.
As to your query on finding a good upload/download site - have you tried 'Bit Torrent'. If you havent used it, just read on. All you need to do is create the upload (jpg, cbr, zip etc) and then using a free 'Bit Torrent' software - create a torrent file and upload it the 'Bit Torrent' hosting website. Others will need to click on the 'Bit Torrent' file and the host website will redirect it to your PC to start downloading. Only thing is to keep you computer running for a few days so it can be downlaoded and the more people download, the better it gets (everyone has to keep 'seeding' by leaving the PC on for a few days).

you have done an wonderful job. in my school days i used wait when would the indrajal comics arrive. as far as i can remember it weekly or fortnightly. but suddenly one day it disappeared. my paperwallah said that it had stopped coming. since then i only read them in newspapers. as these comics are being published till today in newspaers, there must be some source. is it available elsewhere other than india? thanks to my mom that she stored those comics carefully and binded them in volumes. after so many years, once and while whenever i go home i go through those again & again. you have refreshed all old memories. there were some "to be continued" issues i never managed to get from my paperwallah. till now i feel sorry that i could not lay my hands on those issues of phantom, mandrake.

The links for all comics, 160 onwards, is not displayed. Can there be some problem. Actually I tried downloading #160 onwards from three different comps, and all failed.

Superb job done. Just felt as elated as a kid getting his hand on to a candy box.
Only one suggestion I'd like to make. the earlier titles were uploaded to rapidshare.de say from title no.1 to title 80 or thereabout. Later on they are uploaded to rapidshare.com.
I felt downloading files from rapidshare.de much easier than rapidshare.com. Some days I could download even 8-10 titles a day from rapidshare.de, but from rapidshare.com it is only 1 or 2 titles a day.
Anyway these are small glitches compared to the work you have put in. Carry on the good work and hope to lap up more goodies from your treasuretrove.
Does every downloader know that there is a program called Cryptload which can capture the links of rapidshare and download the files from there so there is no need for going to the site, of course the usual restrictions of time etc apply.
Wow ..great work! Can you please upload the zip files to a site that has not restrictions on downloads. Rapidshare is such a pain with it's restriction of time.
If you are interested, I do have a hosting account and can offer you place to upload the zip files for free. You can provide that as alternate links to RapidShare
